Republicans: The “Do-Nothing” Party Whose Strategy Might Work

Here is another great editorial cartoon from the great Tom Toles. Like him, it wouldn’t surprise me either that the Republican’s strategy of obstructing any legislation supported by Democrats might work. While we have to keep pushing the Obama administration and the often non-effective Democrats in the direction we, as liberals/progressives, want, we also have to keep in mind that we ultimately have to support them even if their actions are not as iberal/progressive as we would like.

I agree that the Democrats have been ineffectual. But the cartoon says that the Republican strategy is “Total Paralysis.” That certainly does seem to be the Republican strategy. Don’t you agree with that?

The republicans have been EXCLUDED from any negotiations. Democrats HAVE the majority.. It’s the DEMOCRATS who have not been able to close the deal. MEANWHILE public support has gotten lower and lower, now less than 40% support this. The more Americans learn of this bill, the LESS they support it.
